Simple Daily Care Chart For Children

As a new stay at home mom, I often found myself laying in bed at night wondering if I did everything I was supposed to that day. Some days I excelled and plenty of other days I found it hard to keep my head above water. I'm fortunate enough to have a husband that takes on just as much of the day-to-day care/hygiene tasks for our son as I do. But sometimes when you have more than one person caring for a child, you can make the mistake of assuming the other parent completed a particular task like brushing their teeth before bed and that may not have been the case. Thus the child ends up missing a hygiene task that day. Now in a perfect world, we'd communicate flawlessly but life is busy and messy so things get missed. One thing I've created to help us stay on track is a daily care chart. Some of the daily care tasks that I've found to be easily overlooked or hard to recall when they were last completed are am/pm toothbrushing, daily reading, daily vitamin, bathtime, and bedtime prayers so I've included each of these tasks in the chart below.

The great thing about this chart is that it's good for children of all ages. I currently use it to manage my son's care but later on my son will be able to mark off the tasks himself as he becomes less dependent. I recommend printing one copy per child and laminating it. This way you can use a dry erase marker to mark off each task and reuse it week after week. Hang the chart on the back your child's door or in the bathroom so everyone is on the same page (pun intended).
